Guest Service Representative Job Description
The Guest Service Representative works under the direction of the Front Desk Manager or General Manager. His or her responsibilities include performing daily checklist activities, checking in and out guests, providing optimum guest service & satisfaction, showing individual effectiveness, and sales through on-site or
telephone reservations.
Primary Responsibilities
Reviews all arrivals and ensures that proper CRM procedures are followed for room assignments
Checks in and out guests of the hotel and ensures their method of payment and final bills are
correct
Making reservations on the phone or in person using the hotels reservation flow chart
Gives directions and general information to the guest about the local area
Takes in and gives out cash from a cash drawer that is balanced after each shift
Follows proper internal controls established by the Front Desk Manager and General Manager
Responds promptly to any guests inquires or complaints
Offer alternate solution if guest demand cannot be met
Shows personal control in front of guests by maintaining positive attitude, staying calm & patient,
avoiding use of negative language, and never displaying anger
Take initiative to speak to a guest first
Acknowledges every guest with eye contact & a smile or greeting
Other duties as assigned them to
Physical Requirements
Walking and standing throughout shift (approximately 8 hours)
Use of keyboard and telephone
Some bending, lifting and carrying
